In the evocative underground rooms of the San Lorenzo Cathedral in Piazza San Lorenzo (go to route 1) masterpieces of goldsmith’s art and sacred art dating from the 11th to the 19th centuries are on display (go to the historical insight).

Among the most significant pieces of the Treasure Museum of San Lorenzo Cathedral, the Sacro Catino, considered for centuries the Holy Grail used by Christ during the Last Supper, the Byzantine Cross of the Zaccarias, donated to the Cathedral at the end of the 15th century, the Ark of the Ashes of San Giovanni Battista (1438-1445) and other objects related to the cult of the patron saint of the city.
