The Lanterna (lighthouse) is the symbol of the city of Genoa, the tallest tower in the Mediterranean (go to historical insight) .

Inside there is a museum where period objects intended for the operation of maritime navigation signals are exhibited. In the first rooms, the story of the Lanterna is told; later rooms, known as the Cannons, house lights and lanterns.

The entrance is from Via Milano between the Columbus Sea Hotel and the Ferry Terminal car park, via a suggestive walk in the Port of Genoa (called the Lanterna walk) which retraces the ancient west side entrance to the city of Genoa (go to route 5).

It is also possible to visit the tower, which offers a wonderful view of Genoa.
